@Leah: Not necessarily. I don't enjoy the feeling of being buzzed at all (which is the main reason why I don't drink!).

I love Drinking Diaries and The Happiness Project so it was great to see these two thinks come together in this interview! Like Gretchen, I stopped drinking when I realized it just wasn't making me happy (though, unlike her, I had my fair share of terrible drinking-related experiences!). I love that she chose champagne as the drink she'd be. It's a perfect one for happiness!

I think there's a fine line in the happiness/drinking thing: Drink just enough, and you'll feel great: tipsy, buzzed, warm, etc. Go just over the line, and your happiness plummets cause you'll feel awful: hungover, vomitous, belligerent, etc. It's like anything else: chocolate, for example. You've got to walk the fine line, and if you can't, you should probably stay away! How does drinking make you happy? Come on over to our facebook fan page (see widget on the drinking diaries home page) and join in the discussion!
