It’s rare that I’m drinking and not listening to the sounds of music. I may be in a bar, and Dave Matthews is piping through the speakers. Or at a party, and Adele is crooning from the house iPod. Even in my kitchen, I’ll sip some wine while Jack Johnson–or if my kids have a say, a “cooler” band like the Shins–serenades me as I chop onions and set the table.
Enter, Drinkify. “Created in twenty-four boozy hours” by a few folks at Music Hack Day Boston, the website marries music and drink, explaining that “Drinkify automatically generates the perfect* cocktail recipe to accompany any music. (*May not actually be perfect.)
Perusing some of my preferred musicians, I learned that the suggested “Grateful Dead” accompaniment is:
- 12 oz. Sipsmith Gin
- 12 oz. Lemon juice

- 6 oz. Blackwoods Gin
“The Regina Spektor” includes:
- 1 oz. Microbrew
- 1 oz. Cream
- 8 oz. Sweetened lime juice
- 2 oz. Sipsmith Gin
- 2 oz. Honey
- 1 bottle Cranberry juice
